My new sites are up and running…….

After a considerable amount of thought and planning my new website and blog are up and running.

I wanted to create a website which would be flexible enough to use with any product I might choose to promote in the future. Presently it is oriented toward online marketing but other niches could be included to with some minor editing.

Another goal of the process was to create a new wordpress blog and the ability to move from the blog to the website or from the site to the blog. I have also included links to the profit platform.

I used Hostgator to both obtain my domain name and to host the sites. Alex has suggested getting the domain from Namecheap. I chose to use Hostgator for both even though the cost of securing the domain is slightly higher than Namecheap simply so I did not have to go through the extra step of transfering the domain. By obtaining the domain from Hostgator everything was set up automatically.

I used the SiteBuilder tool to create the web site and the Fantastico tool to create the blog. Working with both tools was rather painless and I would be more than happy to help anyone who might need it with either tool.

I am including a link to Hostgator for anyone who might be interested in checking them out.

    Hi Kenneth,

sites looking good mate. hope you’ve got things moving with your squeeze page. just a note about improvements, (you did ask) you might want to link to this blog directly from your page navigation. not entirely sure how you do it, but changing the link the ‘BLOG’ link from kennethdouglas.com/page5.html to /blog would work i think and just streamline things a bit if you know what i mean. hope i’m not being picky

    cheers

    Hi Ken

Just wondering if you’d add my blog to your blogroll of Alex Students sites and I’ll do the same with your blog… Just let me know when I’m up. Thanks

    Hello Kenneth.

I am struggling to set up my web pages and blog. At hostgator, which package did you go for? Hatchling, baby or business?
